Guest post by Marc Plumlee.

1Eastern and Southeastern Asia rank very high in most of the surveys and statistics data on the most propulsive areas in the world. While Eastern Asia is experiencing incredible economic growth, mostly based on newly formed generations of IT and industry experts, the southeastern part of the largest continent in the world mostly relies on tourism and the leading star of this economic branch is definitely Thailand. Being one of the most visited countries in the world, it offers a huge variety of tourist adventures. From luxurious hotels to traditional Thai bars, this outstanding place has a bright tourist future. And on top of all that, Thailand has a cluster of the most beautiful islands in the world.

Phi Phi Lee

It is a coincidence, but this island and its name that sounds like a college sorority or fraternity actually attract loads of young tourists, students, backpackers and other kinds of adventure-seeking youngsters. On the other hand, it is also a haven for the well-off tourists, as well. This island is situated near more famous Phi Phi Don island, but Phi Phi Lee has been gaining more popularity over the last few years. A must-visit on this island is definitely the Pileh Lagoon, which is where the beautiful beach scenes in the eponymous The Beach movie were taken. Finally, another great advantage of this island is its position in the middle of the Andaman Sea, off the west coast of Thailand.

Koh Samui

3The second largest island in Thailand might be a runner-up in terms of size, but it stands shoulder t shoulder with Phuket when it comes to the number of tourist attractions and visitors. The newest estimate is that Koh Samui was visited by more than 1.5 million tourists on a yearly basis. More than half a million of tourists fly to this enchanting island. It has great plane connections to Bangkok and Pattaya, so people staying in these urban centers can also get here easily for a weekend or a longer period of time. Koh Samui is the first pick by many different classes and types of tourists. You can go to this island if you want to experience different vacation adventures, such as diving, snorkeling, parties and other activities. On the other hand, families also come to Koh Samui. Thanks to the divergence of attractions on Koh Samui, everybody can rent a place in paradise here and spend a memorable vacation in Thailand.

Ko Chang

4Situated in the Gulf of Thailand, Ko Chang is the third largest Thai island, but it does not make it less attractive than Phuket and Koh Samui. This island is a perfect place for those who want to experience a two-sided holiday. Its eastern part showcases a string of divine beaches, while the western part is lined with commercial facilities, like shops, nightclubs and restaurants. The southeastern corner of the island is a haven for genuine beach lovers. Here you can see beautiful sand beaches embellished with incredible blue waters. Also, this island is only about 250 mi away from Bangkok, which makes it easily reachable from the capital of Thailand.
