      The original colors were the greenish-blue and chocolate brown. The bridge goes through restoration every 25 years, so they probably stayed with those colors for a couple of the restorations. Then it was painted red, white and blue to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee in 1977. The latest restoration started in 2008 and was finished in March 2011, so it probably looks a lot brighter now. It is really hard to pick out the blue if you aren’t right next to it. It doesn’t show up as much in the pictures taken from along the river instead of right on it like this one was.
