Snapshot Saturday 2013 #25 – Talkeetna, Alaska

Talkeetna, Alaska

Talkeetna, Alaska

Talkeetna, Alaska is a census-designated place 2 1/2 hours north of Anchorage that had a population of 876 at the time of the 2010 census. It is just east of where three rivers meet: Susitna, Chulitna and Talkeetna. If you walk west on Main Street and continue past the end of the road, you come to the river (this is the edge of Talkeetna) where you can see Mt. McKinley. Downtown Talkeetna is a National Historic Site. I enjoyed walking around Talkeetna after a great lunch at the Denali Brewing Company restaurant. We walked to the river and enjoyed the view, the fresh air, the crystal clear river rolling by and just being in Alaska! Check out more about my visit here: Alaskan Adventures. Alaska was my 50th state checked off my list, some would say I saved the best for last. What is your favorite US State?
