My Bucket List

This is my current bucket list, which includes places I’ve been to as well. Just checking them off as I get to them.

My top three – I can’t decide which of the top three I would rather visit first. They are probably in a good order now, but it’s a real toss up.

Galapagos Islands Photos

The Galapagos Islands – Wildlife, wildlife, wildlife! Visiting here would be unique, and scuba diving would be a must!

Antarctica – Probably not high on many people’s travel list, but I think going to Antarctica would be awesome! I love penguins, and I know there are penguins other places in the world, but just seeing the ice on this continent would be quite a site.

Easter Island – I would love to see the stone face statues, or Moai, on Easter Island, especially at sunset.

The rest of the list…

Machu Picchu – The Inca ruins in Peru are perched so high in the mountains, it looks like a magnificent place to visit. Plus I love visiting places that have been here so long, it’s almost like slipping back in time.

Iceland – Hot springs would be the main reason for visiting Iceland, the scenery would also be great.

The top of the EmpireStateBuilding – I’ve been inside on the main floor, but not to the top.

The Top of the Space Needle – I’ve seen it up close, but I’ve never been to the top. I love Mount Rainier, so I’m sure it would be a fabulous view!

The Top of the EiffelTower – I want to make it to the top! I’ve been there, but was so sick I didn’t make it to the top, but I was able to notice the fantastic view of the city. On my next visit, my husband and I will have a drink or two at the champagne bar at the top!

Auschwitz – Maybe a little depressing to have on my bucket list, but I think it’s an important part of history.

Bergen-Belsen – I’ve been to the house in Amsterdam where the Franks were hiding out, so I would really like to visit where Anne and Margot spent their final days. Not much to visit here but some land and a memorial site, but I still want to go.

Venice – I would love to go here with my husband, shop for masks, eat a lot and take a gondola ride.

LeaningTower of Pisa – so many places in Italy would be great to see, but this one would be unique.

Cape Town – This would be a unique travel spot –and I would like to see the penguins at Borders Beach.

Barrow, Alaska – I’ve been to the southernmost city in the United States, so now I want to get to the northernmost city.

African photo safari – I love animals and seeing them out in the wide open with the gorgeous landscapes and sunsets.

This is the completed part of the list…

Alaska and Mt.McKinley – I’ve wanted to go to Alaska for years and my husband and I finally went in 2011 – we drove north of Anchorage and saw Mt. McKinley and we went on a halibut fishing adventure!

Shark Dive – my brother-in-law and I did this while staying at Anthony’s Key Resort in Roatan, Honduras and it was awesome! They took us down to about 71 feet and we just hung out at the bottom. The sharks were swimming above us and all around us – it was wonderful, I wasn’t scared at all, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Dolphin Dive – this was another extra we did with Anthony’s Key Resort in Roatan. They did bring their dolphins out into the wild with our boat and then we got in the water. There is a chance that wild dolphins will come over and interact with us, but they didn’t. It was still great fun playing with the dolphins underwater.

Snorkeling with the manatees – I’ve wanted to do this since before I even made it to Florida! It was wonderful and I would love to do it again.

Pyramids of Giza – The Pyramid of Khufu is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that still exists, and I’ve been there! I would definitely go again.

I love that you have put reasons to all the places on your bucketlist! Machu Picchu is also on mine, hopefully I will be crossing it off this year. Enjoy the travels, you have such a great spirit!

      Hi Nicollé –
Thanks for visiting my site! I have a lot on my bucket list and more that I could add – there are just so many places I would love to see. I need to work on getting them crossed off. I’m so happy you will be planning a trip to Machu Picchu this year, that is fantastic!

That’s a long list. It will keep you busy for the next 20 years if you plan to visit a destination a year. Out of the lists, Shark Dive is something I’ll never dream of.

Thanks for visiting my blog, yes my list is very long, and there are so many things missing. It will take me a while to cross them off. The shark dive was very fun, but everyone is different on what they like to do on their travels. I would also like to do the great white shark cage dive, that would get the blood pumping. 🙂

Fun! well, except the concentration camps. I’ve been to Dachau and, for me, one was enough. but oh so important to see it in person. I didn’t see Spain on your list 😉 But as I read through the comments was thinking that perhaps it’s on your longer list that you haven’t added it yet. When I retire to Spain, how about you come visit me and I’ll show you Malaga? 🙂 If you like Italy, you will love Spain!! Happy traveling!!

Thanks for visiting my blog! You are right, Spain is missing and it is on a longer list – I have many places that I need to add to this page. But like it was pointed out above, it will take me years to cross off this list – especially since I work full time right now, and have the standard two weeks of vacation time. I would love to have you show me Malaga – sounds like fun! 🙂

I enjoyed very much Your bucket list. Personally I would love to visit Antarctic also. If You want to have different experience then You should visit

    World’s Biggest Snow Castle.

It is in Finland. It is not only castle, but there are ice bar, restaurants, cabinets, chapel and snow hotel.

Thanks for visiting my blog! You are right, I need to add the snow castle to my list, thanks for the link. I like the different themes they create each year, lures you back every year!

  5. Blazing Guns!

Your bucket list is very extensive and I love the fact you define why you MUST see each one. I was privileged to visit South East Asia, mostly Cambodia and a quick trip to Vietnam. I hope you can add to your list as these are amazing places with warm beautiful people. A crazy history (never mind the 20th century) that defies logic but an amazing part of the world. Good luck and I look forward to reading about your adventures!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Yes, I have a lot of work to do on the list and a lot to get crossed off. My revised list might take up 20 pages! There are many places in Asia I would like to see. I am glad you had a wonderful time there. I look forward to visiting one day.

A Panama Canal Cruise would be fantastic! There are so many things I would love to do – my list would really be too long, but I’ve always wanted to go through the canal, or even to just see another boat go through part of it. Have a great time!

You’re welcome! Thanks for linking to one of my posts! I would love to make it to the top of the Eiffel Tower and Venice looks just beautiful and romantic…plus I would love to buy some masks. I was sick when I went to the Eiffel Tower, so I didn’t make it to the top. I think I could get dropped off in Europe and stay a few months and it still wouldn’t be long enough. 🙂

Love your bucket list. Would also love to visit Antarctica. Penguins, vast amounts of ice, and whales and seals. Just so different.
