Most of the trips I took when I was younger were to visit family and they were within driving distance. My first beach vacation was to Hawaii. I already had a love affair with the ocean, but it was really nice being in an ocean that was a tolerable temperature so I could enjoy it and my legs didn’t turn purple! (Oregon water was a little chilly) Snorkeling around and watching all of the fish was so relaxing and the body surfing was great. I did try surfing, but I have some balance issues, that will take a lot more practice. The next big trip was to France and we visited a few castles which were magnificent. That’s when I knew one more castle would never be too much for me. Some people visit one and they are done, but not me.
One of my favorite trips was to Roatan, Honduras. I love dolphins and did extra at Anthony’s Key Resort so I could spend more time with them. I wrote an article for Travel-to-Honduras.com if you would like to read more about my time there: The Dolphin Programs at Anthony’s Key Resort
This vacation is where I got a glimpse of how other people live. Many young people at West End were just travelers. Some of them were gone for months or years. It was a concept I couldn’t quite grasp, but it sounded exciting. I am grounded to home and can’t see myself being gone for so long, but trips here and there can be just as fun!
For a short period of time I was a flight attendant. With that job I was able to finish visiting all of the 50 states, with Alaska being the last one. I did take a few great international trips with that job, and they were a blast. Now I’m back to the cubicle, but my goal is to break free of that someday.
I have been to many places so far and can’t wait to get on a plane to visit many, many more! Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you enjoy traveling along with me!
